The Beehouse works closely with the local community in Powys and Shropshire to provide a number of community music services. Our intention is to enhance the quality of music in the community supported by the success of the commercial and professional services we offer. We also periodically provide employment and work experiences locally.
Events planned for next year will take place at the Workhouse in Llanfyllin, in Welshpool, Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Cardiff, Swansea, Birmingham and Manchester.
The Beehouse has currently dispensed with its Community Rate and will be applying the same rates universally. However we are open to negotiations over projects on a case by case basis. We trust our clientele will find this a more equitable way of offering our professional services. We would ask those wishing to negotiate a reduced rate to write to us formally in the first instance proposing the rate they wish to pay. We will then be able to either accept or reject their proposal.
The Workhouse Party Alternative and Acoustic Stage
The Beehouse Acoustic Stage is hosted by the Beehouse Recording Studio annually for the Workhouse in the front courtyard of the Llanfyllin Workhouse. The party is to provide funds for the restoration of the Workhouse and to support local musicians and artists.
This is a beautiful setting we particularly recommend for artists we have worked with, having a lovely supportive atmosphere and a great sense of tranquility as well as fun. Performers are supplied with a friendly sound engineer and usually a happy and
tolerant audience - a really positive place to play. Please contact us if you would like to take part.
The Party usually takes place in July and there is also a main stage for louder or more electronically based performers.
Unfortunately, the Beehouse Open Mic which was a regular event which has been run by the Beehouse since 2012 has been put on hold as we cannot operate it without some physical help for setup.
Providing a great sounding and professionally controlled PA, the Open Mic invited members of the public to come and perform live at the Workhouse. You could sing, play instruments, read poems, or just be an audience member. It was free to get in, and advertised twice monthly from our Beehouse Artists Facebook page All proceeds from the bar went to the Llanfyllin Dolydd Building Preservation Trust.
For more details go to our Beehouse Open Mic page.

The Beehouse occasionally provides assistance for worthy causes. You are welcome to enquire about this, although it is often difficult for us to provide services totally freely, simply because of the volume of enquiries. Here are some examples of how we may be able to help: Charity Donations.
Radio Beehouse is the radio station we are hoping to use to broadcast materials recorded at the Beehouse, in conjunction with a variety of genres. We are always looking for new material to play on our station, and for DJs willing to present shows. The station is at its formative stages at the moment but will be available for advertising purposes when up and running. You can follow developments and communicate with us on our radio blog at this link once we're up and running.
